Can my caviler king charles spaniel puppy have what killed my guinea pig?

ok my dog and my guinea pig were always together, sometimes sadie (dog) would try to open the guinea pig's cage, then my guinea pig stopped eating, she did this sometimes so i thought it was nothing then a few days later i came home from my b-day dinner with my friends and my guinea pig was opening and closing her mouth and shaking, then she died like 2 minutes later, now my dog stopped eating, she never does this, could she have what my guinea pig had?
