What is he up to...did I hurt his ego?

someone i work for tried to flirt with me, but i didn't respond. then invited me for dinner to discuss some work, and i made sure that it was only about work. since then, i have been a bit cold and withdrawn - just to not give any wrong impressions and make clear that i don't have any feelings for him. then he just recently completed a review for me, which is just marginal. what is going on and should i be on my toes or something?
