Can life forms change their own RNA into DNA?

Man and dinosaur lived at the same time early in history. I think humans and animals can only adapt, possibly by making active genes dormant, and dormant genes active as needed. So what if man and ape share DNA! Everything seems to have genes that you can find in something else. We are all God's creatures and we are all of this planet.
